Unfortunately, cloudy and stormy weather in Colorado prevent us to observe Mars for several days. The distance between Mars and Earth is now 59.0 million km. The distance is decreasing amazingly!!

  Day 1 (D-23)
Meade NG-60This is the first day of observation of Mars Journal. Observation device is a Meade telescope NG-60 60mm Altazimuth Refracting Telescopes with achromatic objective lens (D=60mm, F=700mm f/11.7) and eye piece MA25mm and MA9mm. With this device shape of the Mars and color differences on Mars surface. Ice covered part of the Mars was observed as white color. Mars will approach to Earth in 55.76 million km distance on August 27th and the distance can be checked from NASA website, Mars Ephemeris Generator 2.1. Mars is still located 60.8 million km away from Earth. It's far away from it's closest distance.
